Sweet potatoes as their name suggests are very much like potatoes in texture but have a sweeter, somewhat spicier taste. They come in a wide range of skin colours, from pinky red to almost white.
Sweet potatoes can be cooked and prepared in the same way as potatoes, roasted, mashed, boiled or baked. They are also delicious baked with garlic and added to pasta dishes with fetta cheese.
Sweet potatoes store well for many days in a cool dry place.
